"It’s been so amazing. The progress (my son) has made has been fantastic - really singing and trying to vocalise words! Also, all the back-and-forth games have been great for improving his eye contact. You have been brilliant. It’s lovely to see his relationship with you and how he interacts. You always make him feel so comfortable. He is always keen to stay in the room with you at the end of sessions, which is unusual for him and he made significant progress in his communication".
(Mother of a non-verbal 4 year old client with ASD)
"Mollie came into Headway and my support worker suggested I try some Music therapy. We started with some bongo drums and Mollie copied what I did as I hit them. This made me feel good. We also used xylophones and we played together and this also really helped relieve the frustration I was feeling. She also got a huge gong out and we did meditation together. Her voice is so relaxing and it made me feel calm and at peace. Her voice put me into a trance - this was fantastic! I felt like I had entered another world. We used our sessions together to talk through any problems I was having and it really helped me. Mollie got me to pick fifteen of my favourite songs and she put them together into one track and sent it to me. It really relaxed me listening to it and made me feel happier. Music is my life and Mollie knew that and we used this therapy to really help me.
I miss Mollie and I miss her sessions. I completely recommend her so much to anyone if they need the help that I received. Her voice alone is so soothing. Mollie also heled me get back into counselling and it did me the world of good.
Mollie you have given me such good coping tools to help me through my life which I will always use. Thank you so much!"
(Davida Foyster, adult client with brain tumour)
"I would like to thank you Mollie for your time you have spent with my brother. It has undoubtedly been so beneficial and we have seen some great progress. You gave him the ability to express himself in a way that he didn't have before, which has given him confidence as well as the companionship that you have offered him during your sessions which we are all truly grateful for. What a difference your sessions have made! Keep doing what you are doing Mollie, you are going to make a difference to more people's lives that need you".
(Sister of an adult client with acquired brain injury)
“The sonic map that Mollie created for me has given me a deeply personal and incredibly healing journey through my life. From early years to present day - it helps me connect strongly to who I am, where I’ve come from, my struggles and joys, my fragility and strength. I feel privileged to have my memories captured in such an evocative way, and I use it as a powerful healing tool whenever I need to connect with my past in a way that I find uplifting and releasing. I’m also really grateful to Mollie for putting it together for me so sensitively and respectfully”.
(Sally Cornwell, Designer)
"Mollie has an extraordinary ability to connect to people with compassion and empathy. Coupled with a masters degree in music therapy and an intuitive feel for the use of the gong as an instrument of healing, I can only highly recommend you contact her to see how she can help."
(Moshe Halperin, Veterinary Surgeon | Musician | Co-founder of Medicine Festival)
"Mollie has a very clear idea of the level of complexity or simplicity that a child needs, and has adapted this thoughtfully and appropriately to her work with her client".
(Catherine Warner, Clinical Supervisor)
"Mollie’s confidence in singing and the use of structured songs are strengths that she built upon creatively, allowing a rich creative experience for the client. She also incorporated poetry and movement, lights and colour into the work, which engaged him so fully. I have been impressed how she ‘learned from the patient’, creating musical material from sounds and vocalisations that he brought into the sessions. It is clear that Mollie developed a detailed understanding of the client’s needs, both communicatively and emotionally, and that she also has a natural ability to foster a trusting relationship".
(Clare Greaves, Clinical Supervisor)
"I didn’t think I was going to come to the group today. But I decided to go and I’m so glad I did! It’s been absolutely brilliant. We are all in the same boat and it’s so nice to be able to share how we feel with each other through the music".
(Palliative Care Out-patient after an active listening group session)
"I have really loved coming to your music therapy group. I was really nervous before, but now I think, well, I’ll be up there soon, looking down through a little hole in the clouds and singing “Come on baby light my fire”! And keeping an eye on you all so you can’t misbehave! Thank you so much".
